My 78 yr old sister has it and it is very painful. Took years to be diagnosed. She is waiting for some kind of injection but meanwhile do you think it would help her to try a gluten free diet. I am 71 and have celiac. She is my only sister. Thank you.

1. Other food sensitivities
2. Nutritional deficiencies
3. The possibility of mold exposure
4. Yeast overgrowth in your intestines (mimics gluten exposure)

I still however experience itchy face and dry itchy nose. I also have eczema patches on my forehead, eyebrows, scalp, and sides of my face. I wonder what else could be causing it. I also have a few small eczema patches on my elbows and knees.

I’ve never been diagnosed with celiac and never thought I’m sensitive. I’ve developed over the last 9 years redness on my skin and bumpy texture on my chin. It all started with my chin becoming red and getting the texture, and last three years redness moved to my chicks, and nose areas. I’m also mostly plant-based for the last 9 years, but I had a journey of eating eggs, baked products containing milk and eggs, and 2 years ago I started eating meat as strongly believed that my low iron and hair loss caused by lack of meat. After some time of eating meat my face symptoms worsened, my chin and nose area started patching, flaring red and very itchy. I stopped eating meat completely and after a month worsening symptoms disappeared. But bumpy texture and still redness stayed. I’ve been using niacinamide by The Ordinary for my nose to keep it less red, it helped with nose but not with the other areas of my face. About a month ago I was told by my cosmetologist that I most likely have gluten sensitivity cause of my skin. It made me double think as I knew about connection of iron absorption and gluten, so I’ve decided to try gluten free seriously. One month after my redness on chicks and nose area has disappeared 👻 and even bumpy texture on my chin is getting flattened.
